My Biography

Born in Capodistria, a small town near Trieste, Italy, Victor Minca is a living testament to the transformative power of artistic passion. From the tender age of 10, when he recreated Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa with the guidance of his father Piero, Victor realized his future was destined to be intertwined with art.
Even though his life became a labyrinth of different interests that led him towards liberal art in college and cinematography at the New York University, it was ultimately his enrollment at the Art Student League of New York that nurtured his natural painterly skills.
But life did not simply hand him the brush and palette. After his formal education, Victor had to exchange his artistic dreams for the dusty terrain of traditional work life, specifically banking. It was an ill-fitting arrangement that led Victor towards the flash and glamour of fashion and advertising photography, a career that saw him capturing exquisite frames for prestigious names like Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Despite the fame he received as an award-winning photographer and the numerous features in international and domestic magazines and newspapers, his first love, painting, echoed in the hollows of his heart.
Returning to his first love, Victor began to populate his empty walls with self-created art after getting his hands on an affordable student painting set. Two decades later, Victor’s artistic journey has birthed more than 300 paintings, each narrating a distinct story using his unique style and experiences. Unconstrained by trends, Victor's creations are inspired by his extensive travels and interactions with diverse cultures and societies.
His technique is a harmonious merge of his professional experiences and personal encounters. Every portrait whispers a unique story, each composition reflecting his strong background in advertising and fashion photography. Victor's art is marked by its simplicity, with no extra frills that might distract from the main story it seeks to tell. The raw human essence he delivers on canvas has earned him recognition from the Italian and French Consulates in Miami.
Influenced by artistic virtuosos like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Warhol, Victor churns out paintings that are deeply personal, yet universally relatable. Viewing his art, one can’t help but notice the emotional depth enriched by his cross-continental experiences and observations.
While his art now graces the walls of international collectors, his work can be primarily found on his website, Victor Minca Fine Art. This shift to a more digital showcase was prompted by the outbreak of COVID-19, although he has, in the past, displayed his work at venues such as the Societa' Dante Alighieri in Miami, and various galleries in New York, Italy, Australia, and Holland.
Even outside the realm of art, Victor is a man of many interests. A runner with 10 marathons under his belt, including New York and London, Victor enjoys playing Renaissance music on his classical guitar, indulging in a plate of rigatoni, and sipping prosecco.
Victor Minca's art is not just about creating beautiful images. It's a reflection of his journey - of interesting places, fascinating people, and transformative experiences. As he continues to paint, the canvas of his work will undoubtedly keep expanding, offering a unique perspective on the world he sees and lives.
