Description: Nicole & I is a new work where I explore the intersection of identity and imagination through portraiture. The piece centers on a vibrant depiction of a woman with long, flowing blonde hair, rendered with rich brushstrokes in warm hues yellows, oranges, and reds that shape her intense gaze and lively expression. Accents of subtle purples and pinks in her clothing and shadows add depth and contrast, giving the portrait a dynamic yet balanced feel. 
What sets this artwork apart is its layered concept: while Nicole is painted realistically, I take on the role of a cartoon figure within the composition. This duality stems from the idea of merging reality and personal interpretation capturing Nicole Kidman’s essence alongside a playful self-representation as the artist. The tight composition focuses closely on Nicole’s head and upper torso, emphasizing how color and movement convey emotional presence without distraction.

The process behind Nicole & I was particularly engaging because of this interplay between two styles in one piece. Painting Nicole allowed me to concentrate on detailed expression and color harmony, while incorporating my cartoon figure as a painter introduced a narrative element, blurring the lines between subject and artist. Through this approach, I want to invite viewers to reflect on how we present ourselves and others both through observation and imagination.
